Services:   People requesting CSBG services from partnering agencies must be at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The following agencies and programs were awarded CSBG funding for the period October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018:

    • YES House: CSBG funds are utilized to provide Day Treatment i.e. Intensive Outpatient Program to children ages 6-18 from low-income families. Children participate in substance abuse/mental health groups, individual and family counseling, and in sessions that are focusing on building social skills, parent/child relations, peer relations, and addressing anger management. 
    • Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation (G.A.R.F.):  G.A.R.F. uses CSBG for rent and utilities and deposits on rent and utilities primarily for Shelter clients leaving the shelter, but also for clients not using the shelter that are moving into safe housing away from their perpetrators.
    • Gillette Area Salvation ArmySalvation Army, Gillette Service Unit, uses the CSBG funding to help low-income families stay in their homes and avoid eviction, and to keep the heat and lights on.

Emergency Assistance is available for those who qualify through Carbon County Public Health Department for:

    • Physicians visits
    • Vision Care
    • Dental Care
    • Prescriptions
    • Transportation to and from medical care

Carbon County Public Health Department also offers parenting classes for qualified individuals.

The Cathedral Home for Children receives CSBG funding in Carbon County as well.

Community Action of Laramie County

Services: Community Action of Laramie County provides an Intensive Case Management Program. It supports a limited number of qualified individuals and/or families who meet 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. Approved program participants will enter into either a one- or a two-year commitment. Each obligation will receive intensive case management, including but not limited to achieving and/or maintaining housing; enhancement of life skills; addressing individual needs; building social skills and community relations; and developing goals to achieve an improved quality of life.
